Prof. N Balachandar is an engaging teacher, having curated curricula & pedagogy for the millennial learners, leveraging his rich corporate experience and academic credentials blended with his deep interest in improving the quality of higher education.
Bala is an adaptive leader who has rich multi industry and country experience. His early grooming was at Asian Paints as HRM for retail & industrial sales and then he left them as Corporate Training Manager. Following this he worked with Standard Chartered Bank, as the first HR Head of fastgrowing Credit Card business and then as HR Head for Consumer Banking in India, responsible for integrating the Card business with Retail Banking. He joined GE in 2001 as Vice President HR for GE Healthcare, India. Bala also worked at the International HQ of GE Healthcare as the “OD Leader” for EMEA & Asia, based in Paris. After four years with Healthcare, he was rotated to GE Capital as the Executive VP, based in Tokyo for three years. In his last corporate engagement, he was the Group Director- HR, Coffee Day Group, where he was responsible for people strategy and execution for the Group.
He has been a guest faculty at IIM- Bangalore, Trichy, Indore and other Universities. He served on the prestigious “Karnataka Knowledge Commission” for two years, actively building the five years’ skills road map for the state. Bala provided leadership to NHRD Bangalore Chapter and was also on their National Board. He currently serves as an Advisor and Consultant to PGC a leading HR consulting firm in India.
